Shares of Allahabad Bank rose over 7%, touching the monthly high of Rs206.90, after the bank said its board would meet on February 22, 2012 to consider issuing equity shares on a preferential basis to Government of India.
Allahabad Bank's net profit rose 34.78% to Rs560.43 crore on 36.85% growth in total income to Rs4260.28 crore in Q3 December 2011 over Q3 December 2010.
