Realty stock surge today (April 03, 2012) on reports some banks were cutting home loan rates for new borrowers, sparking hope of increased property sales in the country
On the BSE, at 11.44 am Unitech up 3.60%, HDIL up 1.74%, Indiabulls Real Estate up 1.67%, DLF up 0.51%, DB Realty up 0.45%
As per the reports, which said that lenders Canara Bank and IDBI Bank had slashed these rates to attract new borrowers.
The reported moves sparked hopes other rival banks would be forced to match the cuts in the loan rates.
