Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) gained over 4% to hit the 52-week high and Videocon Industries rose nearly 2% and touched the day's high of Rs172, after partner Anadarko Petroleum said it has discovered a major new gas field in Mozambique.
The US explorer says the Golfinho discovery in northern Mozambique may hold more than 20 trillion cubic feet of gas, and would underpin a plan to develop a world class liquefied natural gas export operation in Mozambique.
