Maruti total sales rise 5.2% in Jan
Maruti Suzuki January 2012 sales: Domestic sales zoom past 1 Lakh mark (first time in the fiscal), exports shine:
Maruti Suzuki reported robust sales for January 2012.
The domestic sales crossed the 1 lakh mark, the first time in this fiscal, registering strong growth of 30.4% on MoM basis. On YoY basis, domestic sales grew marginally. Exports also registered strong performance growing 54.3% on YoY basis. The entry level segment as well as the MPV segment (vans) which have seen considerable pressure in previous months came back well recording MoM growth of 34.8% and 57.3% respectively. Compact car sales helped by newly launched Swift continued strong performance recording growth of 22.4% on YoY basis at 25,756 units. SX4 also showed strong performance selling record 1,939 units. Total sales surge by 5.2% (yoy) to 115433 units.
