Tata Motors' total sales in January rose 16% year-on-year to 87,465 units, helped by growth across its commercial and passenger vehicle segments.
The company sold 80,382 vehicles in the domestic market during the month, up 14% from a year ago.
The India's largest commercial vehicle maker sold 45,713 CVs in the domestic market, up 14% year-on-year. While LCV sales rose 15%, medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales were up 11% in January.
Tata Motors' passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market were up 14% year-on-year at 36,770 units. It sold 34,669 Tata branded vehicles in January, highest ever for any month, and 2,101 Fiat cars, the company said.
Tata Nano sales rose 15% from a year ago to 7,723 units, Indica range sales were up 9% at 11,534 units and Indigo sales were up 10% at 9,272 units. Sales of Tata Motors' utility vehicles, which include Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture, jumped 38% to 6,140 units in January.
For the April-January period, Tata Motors sold 714,235 units in the domestic and export markets, up 11% year-on-year.
