Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has commissioned thermal and hydro power equipment, with a cumulative capacity of 7,900 mega watt (MW) this fiscal.
The state-run power gear maker had synchronised 8,108MW capacity in the last fiscal.
Till March 23 this year, BHEL has commissioned equipment having a total capacity of 7,900MW, according to a company statement.
Equipment having a cumulative capacity of 1,625MW, for both thermal and hydro power projects, were commissioned in just 24 hours.
'Four of the projects -- 525MW Unit-2 of Maithon Power, 500MW Unit-2 of KPCL Bellary, 500MW Unit-2 of DVC Durgapur and 100MW Unit-4 of THDC Koteshwar (Hydro) -- were synchronised and achieved full load in just 24 hours,' it said.
The Maithon and the KPCL Bellary projects are in Jharkhand, while the DVC Durgapur project is in West Bengal. The THDC Koteshwar plant is in Uttarakhand.
BHEL received total orders of 31,560MW for power plant equipment during 2009-10 and 2010-11.
The company has the capability to deliver 15,000MW per annum and further augmentation to 20,000MW per annum is underway.
