Shares of Delta Corp rose over 4%, touching the day's high of Rs70.30, after Goa government on Monday,(March 26, 2012), reduced the entry fee to offshore casinos to Rs500 from Rs2000 earlier.
Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday, (March 26, 2012), said the reduction in entry fee of casinos will be compensated by way of imposition of a high licence fee on the casinos. Parrikar proposed to increase the licence fees from Rs5 crore to Rs6.5 crore. Further, he said that local residents will not be allowed to enter offshore casinos and those who will be allowed to enter will have to be 21 years and above.
