Bajaj Auto has reported a 2% declined in its total vehicle sales for the month of May 2012.
Motorcycle sales for the month are up only 1% at 321,922 units (vs 317,989 last year) while commercial vehicle sales have slumped 26% at 30,297 units.
Exports are up 3% at 130,573 units. Bajaj Auto says that exports to Sri Lanka were nil last month against average 10,000 vehicles. It expects a recovery in July.
Year-to-date (April-May 2012) vehicle sales are up 1% at 733,809 units, with exports growing by 5% at 299,583 units.
Motorcycle sales are up 4% at 664,246 units while CV sales fell by 19% at 69,563 units.
