Future Capital Holdings surged over 9% and Pantaloon Retail (India) rose nearly 7% on the BSE, after the Warburg Pincus LLC is set to buy a majority holding in the company from Pantaloon Retail India.
Shares in Future Capital Holdings surged heading to their highest single day percentage gain since April 30, as U.S. private equity firm Warburg Pincus LLC is set to buy a majority holding in the company for $100-$125 million from Pantaloon Retail India.
Warburg Pincus will pay Rs165-170 per share, which represents a premium of 18-24% to Future Capitals Friday closing price, two sources said.
Future Capital shares last traded at Rs148.25, below the reported offer price, ahead of its board meeting later in the day to approve the transaction.
At 2.10 pm, Pantaloon Retail (India) was trading at Rs144.65, up by 4.29%, with a volume of 12.54 lakh shares on the BSE.
Future Capital Holdings was trading at Rs144.70, up by 5.62%, with a volume of 15.20 lakh shares on the BSE.
