The Indian markets start the session with good gains or the second day in a row on the back of positive global cues. All the sectors are trading higher. Index heavyweights like RIL, Infy, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Tata Steel, HDFC and HUL also led some support.
Index heavyweight Reliance Industries (RIL) are trading higher ahead of Annual General Meeting (AGM) today (June 07, 2012) at 11 am.
Punjab & Sind Bank surged 6% after sources said cabinet would consider recapitalisation of regional rural banks.
On the global front, Asian stock markets are also trading higher on Thursday (June 07, 2012), extending gains made in the previous session, as investors hoped for US and European monetary easing to counter growing economic woes.
Among the 30 Sensex stocks, the topmost gainers are - Sterlite Inds up 2.19%, Hero MotoCorp up 2.06% and Infy up 1.87%. The topmost losers are - TCS fell 1.28%, M&M fell 1.20% and Tata Motors fell 0.73%.
